Approach
- Bacteria grow in our bodies. The digestive system contains about 100 trillion bacteria, which is more than the amount of cells in the human body. These organisms weigh around 1.8 kg (4 lbs). Bacteria might be beneficial or harmful to your gut, depending on the species. The symptoms of bad bacteria include diarrhea, burping, bloating, toxicity to the intestine, constipation, and nutrient malabsorption.
- Digestive diseases affect more than 20 million people in Canada each year. These health issues result in missed time at work, school, and leisure. They also appear to be happening with increasing frequency. Many digestive problems were almost unheard of decades ago, but they are now cropping up more frequently and in younger individuals. The trillions of bacteria that make up the digestive system, known as intestinal flora, are another way to support gut health. Maintaining a healthy balance between beneficial and harmful microbes in your intestines is one way to do this.
Ingredients
Good Bacteria (Probiotics)
- The term ""probiotics"" refers to the beneficial bacteria in food or a natural health product that keep or restore them in the digestive system
Lactobacilli
- Lactobacilli are a type of beneficial microorganism that may be found in the large and small intestines, especially in the lower part. One of the most prevalent species of lactobacilli is Lactobacillus gasseri. Lactobacilli are bacteria that turn lactose milk sugar into lactic acid. Lactobacilli can aid in the removal of harmful bacteria by changing the intestinal environment, making it unfavorable for some harmful germs. A double-blind, parallel-group, randomized, active controlled clinical trial of 169 participants examined the impact of two probiotic formulations on acute diarrhea.
- During the first two days, Lactobacillus gasseri plus Bifidobacterium longum reduced the number of unformed stools by 80 percent and increased the rate of people fully recovering. When compared to monobacterium Enterococcus feacium, it proved to reduce the duration and intensity of diarrhea in adults. Lactobacillus gasseri is a probiotic that helps to restore the micro biome after it has been altered. When our gastrointestinal tracts are devoid of beneficial and harmful bacteria, Lactobacillus gasseri is believed to recolonize the intestine in order to bring the microbiome back to an equilibrium.
Bifidobacteria
- Bifidobacteria are probiotic bacteria that colonize the large intestine (colon) and promote regularity. Bifidobacteria have been used to treat digestive problems and enhance the immune system because they are considered vital to gastrointestinal tract health. Bifidobacteria are also helpful in the synthesis of B vitamins. Bifidobacteria may also help to reduce intestinal bacteria fluctuations and GI discomfort. Bifidobacterium bifidum is beneficial in enhancing the immune system and preventing harmful enzymes from increasing.
Prebiotics (Fit ‘n Fiber)
- To nourish the three kinds of beneficial microorganisms present in FloraFood, AIM Fit 'n Fiber includes three types of prebiotic fiber: acacia, konjac (glucomannan), and guar gum. Each packet contains 8 grams of prebiotic fiber, which is fed to good bacteria and helps them reproduce rapidly so that the gut microbiome is maintained.

A All three strains of bacteria in FloraFood are cultured in a laboratory environment from good bacteria-derived more than 30 years ago from a healthy human source.
Q Can I take FloraFood with AIM PrepZymes® or other products?
A Yes, you can take FloraFood with other AIM products. FloraFood and PrepZymes are both best taken with meals. However, PrepZymes will break down the bacteria in FloraFood, so take these products separately at alternate meals.
Q Are there any side effects?
A FloraFood is completely safe. However, some detoxification may occur. Please see our detoxification datasheet for more information. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should always consult a health care practitioner when adding new supplements to their diets.
Q Is there anyone who should not use FloraFood?
A It is considered safe for everyone; however, consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, or severe abdominal pain. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset (e.g., diarrhea) occur, worsen, or persist beyond 3 days. Do not use if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g., AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment).
Q Does FloraFood need to be refrigerated?
A Many probiotics require refrigeration, but the bacteria in FloraFood are stable at room temperature due to the unique, proprietary manufacturing methods. Therefore, FloraFood does not require refrigeration.
Q Who should use FloraFood?
A Anyone concerned about digestive health should consider using FloraFood. Anyone exposed to stress could also benefit since stress upsets our digestive tract.
