Approach
- Carrots have long been recognized as a healthful food. They are high in several vital minerals, including alpha and beta-carotene, B vitamins, vitamin C, calcium, iron, potassium, and lutein. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are high in enzymes, which cause thousands of chemical reactions in the body. Enzymes are necessary for food digestion and absorption as well as energy production at the cellular level.
- Enzymes are not only necessary for most of the physical repair that takes place in our bodies on a daily basis, but they're also crucial for many aspects of life. We would be unable to walk, talk, blink, or breathe without enzymes and the sparks they provide. Enzymes and helpful phytonutrients can be lost when foods are overly cooked, which is why uncooked or steamed vegetables and fresh juices are so essential to our health. Carrots are a great source of enzymes and phytonutrients.
- Only 1% of the beta-carotene is absorbed by the body when we eat raw carrots. Carrots should be lightly steamed to open the fibrous walls of the vegetable and increase absorption by 19 percent in the body. Juicing eliminates plant fiber, allowing vital minerals to be readily absorbed by the body. Water is one of the primary nutrients that juicing delivers. Water is required for the digestion and transportation of food, waste removal, lubrication of joints, and body temperature and cellular functions. Water sustains all human functions in one way or another.
Ingredients
Beta-carotene and Vitamin A
- Beta-carotene is a pigment that occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables. About 600 different compounds are known as carotenoids, of which beta-carotene is one. Beta-carotene is well regarded for its ability to convert efficiently to vitamin A. Potatoes, spinach, mango, cantaloupe, kale, and tomatoes are all high-beta-carotene foods, but raw carrots and steamed carrots have the greatest beta-carotene content. The body transforms beta-carotene from these foods into vitamin A, an immune system booster that aids in the development of healthy cell growth, particularly during puberty.
- Vitamin A is required for the proper functioning of cells, which is known as differentiation. Because beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, is a natural antioxidant, it may help prevent disease by promoting cell regeneration. Vitamin A is required for the transduction of light into nerve signals in the retina, as well as the maintenance of mucosal linings in the eyes. Vitamin A deficiency blindness is uncommon in North America, but it can promote corneal dryness and retina and corneal damage. Vitamin A helps to maintain respiratory, urinary, and intestinal health by protecting mucous membranes. Bacteria can enter the body when these linings break down, causing illness. Vitamin A is said to aid lymphocytes, a white blood cell that fights infections. In this manner, vitamin A may help to enhance the immune system.
Antioxidants
- Beta-carotene is more than just a vitamin A source; it's also an antioxidant. The body transforms beta-carotene into vitamin A as needed. The beta-carotene in carrots, like all carotenoids, protects against free radicals by acting as an antioxidant. It also aids in the maintenance of a healthy immune system and supports other antioxidants through complimentary functions. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and help to prevent membrane damage, DNA mutation, and lipid (fat) oxidation.

Q What can you tell me about the processing used for Just Carrots?
A Just Carrots uses a special three-step process, which ensures beneficial, heat-sensitive enzymes are not destroyed.
Q I live in a place with high humidity, how else can I store Just Carrots?
A AIM Just Carrots can be put in a newer freezer (equipped with a dehumidifier) to preserve the nutrients and prevent humidity-related clumping. Shake canister well before opening. Do not refrigerate.
Q Can I take too much beta-carotene?
A Beta-carotene is non-toxic and does not appear to affect health apart from strengthening the immune system. This is unlike synthetic vitamin A supplements, which can be toxic in large doses. People who take exceptionally large quantities of beta-carotene may experience a change in skin tone known as carotenemia. This condition gives the skin a golden tone and is not harmful.
Q I started taking Just Carrots, and I feel worse. Why?
A When you make a change in your diet, your body often goes through a cleansing known as detoxification. This can manifest itself in a variety of symptoms, including fatigue, rashes, and headaches. For more information, see AIM’s Detoxification datasheet.
Q Is there anyone who should not take Just Carrots?
A Just carrots is a whole food, so most people should be able to take it.
